Conflicts often develop when diverging interests and aims clash, especially in scientific contexts. This is especially true for situations with an imbalance in power, e.g. in supervision.  Problems arise when such conflicts get stuck, petrify and become destructive. In such cases, mediation is an established, quick and forward-looking instrument for conflict resolution.
